Atorvastatin with sAST

Abstract

The study discussed the indirect effect of Atorvastatin as one of statin group (lipid lowering agent) on sAST (sGOT the old name of enzyme), by study the direct and indirect effect of Atorvastatin on the samples of serum taken from 27 patients known case of hyperlipidemia, and started treatment protocol with Atorvastatin, after 3 months of treatment, incidence of presented elevation of sAST is 0.5% in the atorvastatin treated population, some of those within 12 hours of low dose atorvastatin consumption liver functions were fully recovered to the baseline level 11 days after discontinuation of atorvastatin treatment.
